Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) focuses on creating intelligent computers that can perceive their environment and make decisions to reach certain goals. Machine learning (ML) is a subfield of AI that gives computers the ability to learn iteratively, improve predictive models, and find insights from data without being explicitly programmed to do so. AI/ML applications include speech recognition, computer vision, robotic control, and accelerating processes in the empirical sciences.

Autonomous Vehicles

Autonomous Vehicles are hardware and software solutions that enable self-driving or driver-assisted capabilities for cars, trucks and other vehicles on the road. This vertical includes self-driving cars, softwares for teleoperation and localization, mapping and simulation technologies, and sensors and other hardware like LiDAR radars and cameras.


Blockchain is a distributed public database that keeps a permanent and incorruptible record of digital transactions. Blockchains are unique in that they cannot be controlled by a single entity, have no single point of failure, and can be programmed to store various types of information. Blockchain applications include smart contracts, crowdfunding, supply chain auditing, cryptocurrency, identity management, intellectual property, and file storage amongst many others.


Clean Technology (CleanTech) companies develop products that reduce the environmental impact of human activities or reduce the amount of natural resources consumed through such activities. CleanTech includes solar energy, recycling technology, and carbon capture/elimination.

Customer Engagement is the method in which a company creates a relationship with its customer base to foster brand loyalty and awareness. This can be accomplished via marketing campaigns and web content as well as outreach using social media, mobile devices and wearable devices. Consumer Engagement companies help facilitate a natural conversation with customers to learn what matters most to stakeholders.

Consumer Marketplaces

A Consumer Marketplace is any place, whether online or in person, that facilitates transactions and allows consumers to purchase products or services. Innovative consumer marketplaces allow for frictionless transactions that allow previously disconnected sellers and buyers to connect and transact.

Data Optimization

Data Optimization companies find methods to ethically source data, and then organize and optimize this data into a format that is useful for buyers. Data Optimization companies include marketplaces that provide incentives to end users to allow data to be collected, anonymized, and sold to provide insights into industry trends. Data Optimization companies can source many types of information including financial, spending, economic, and corporate data.


Financial Technology (FinTech) companies use internet, blockchain and software technologies to offer or facilitate simpler financial services traditional offered by banks. These services include loans, payments, investments and wealth management. FinTech also includes software that automates financial processes or addresses financial firms’ core business needs.

Food & Beverage

The Food & Beverage (F&B) industry includes all companies involved in processing, packaging, and distributing raw food materials. This includes fresh, prepared foods, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and also includes technologies around efficient distribution and waste management for the F&B industry.

Healthcare & Biotech

Healthcare & Biotech companies aim to optimize the ability of the care industry. They utilize mobility and other information technologies to improve healthcare delivery while decreasing costs, and also look to invest in more efficient testing for early diagnosis of disease. Human Resources (HR) technology utilizes software to improve HR management operations and hiring processes, including job applications, applicant tracking and screening, performance management, benefits administration, employee engagement and employee analytics.
